‘Take charge of your Skin through Covid-19’
All of us as a nation are in this together, if you’re not a frontline hero then chances are like myself your listening to the advice and staying home.
Some of us are trying to work from our homely haven and some are teaching the art of phonics and maths, some are doing both but all who are isolating are experiencing a little extra time in our daily schedules.
So what can you do with that little extra time???
Ditch the fake tan, embrace the lovely tone of your natural skin. Most fake tans have toxic chemical ingredients which cause a chemical reaction to the dead skin cell layer making your skin appear darker or ‘sun kissed’
What to do instead?
Try dry skin brushing 2-3 times a week to remove dead skin or why not make your own body polish from your cupboard.
Home Body Polish
- Re-use plastic/glass jar
- ½ Cup of either sugar or Himalayan/ rock salt (Epson Salts is another alternative, why not mix them all.
- ¼ olive oil or whatever oil you have at home
- 15 drops of essential oil (optional)
Blend together your ingredients and use on dry skin before taking a bath or shower. Note: Use whilst standing in the bath or shower as it could get messy…
Your body will thank you and your skin will feel amaze!!!
You don’t need to moisturise after your scrub as your body will be baby skin smooth.
- 100 ml of Oil (Olive oil or Grapeseed which can be found in the cooking isle hopefully! Panic buyers..)
- 30-40 drops of essential oil, when in doubt use lavender
- Re-use a pump bottle or cleaned shampoo bottle etc
A little goes a long way in body oils so avoid the slippery eel feel and use only a small amount.
If you follow me on Instagram or facebook I talk a lot about face care and how to use products. Below is a table of products and how often they should be used to create the perfect skin care ritual your face will thank you for.

It’s also important to keep your skin hydrated, this doesn’t just mean drinking your recommended 8 glasses of water a day but to steam!
STEAM AT HOME
- Basin with boiled water
- 5 drops of essential oil (optional)
1-2 times a week give your skin a good steam. Place water and oil in your basin, place your face 30cm (whatever is comfortable) away from the bowl and cocoon yourself under the towel for 4-7 minutes. Stay comfortable…
So there you have it! 10 minutes a day can result in supporting your skin and slowing down the effects of ageing…
